തിരുവിതാംകൂർ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ട്രാൻസ്പോർട്ട് ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റിലാണ് ഈ കഥ തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. 1938 ഫെബ്രുവരി 20-ന് ശ്രീ ചിത്തിരതിരുനാൾ മഹാരാജാവ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് മോട്ടോർ സർവീസ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു; അടുത്ത ദിവസം മൂന്ന് റൂട്ടുകളിൽ പൊതുസർവീസ് ആരംഭിച്ചു.
1965 മാർച്ച് 15-ന് കോർപ്പറേഷൻ രൂപീകൃതമായി; 1965 ഏപ്രിൽ 1 മുതൽ അത് സ്വയംഭരണ സ്ഥാപനമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി. കൈമാറ്റത്തിന്റെ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ 661 ബസ് ഷെഡ്യൂളുകൾ, 553 റൂട്ടുകൾ, 901 ബസുകൾ, 6,352 ജീവനക്കാർ എന്നിവയാണ് കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ കൈവശം വന്നത്.

The story begins in the Travancore State Transport Department. On 20 February 1938 His Highness Sree Chithirathirunal inaugurated the State Motor Service, and public service began the next day on three routes.
The Corporation was formed on 15 March 1965 and began working as an autonomous body from 1 April 1965. At the transfer it took over 661 bus schedules, 553 routes, 901 buses and 6,352 employees.

പതിനഞ്ച് അംഗങ്ങളുള്ള ഡയറക്ടർ ബോർഡാണ് കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ ഭരണ സമിതി; ചെയർമാൻ അതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ചെയർമാനും മാനേജിംഗ് ഡയറക്ടറുമായി ഡോ. പി. എസ്. പ്രമോജ് ശങ്കർ IOFS പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. സി. പി. ജോൺ ആണ്.
